FAQ
What is studmap?
studmap turns NFT and pixel art into LEGO mosaics. Every pixel becomes one stud in the closest of 41 current LEGO colours, and each plan comes with a parts list, a BrickLink wanted list, a LEGO Pick a Brick list and step-by-step build instructions.
How much does a LEGO mosaic of my NFT cost?
Parts for the published plans run from about $22 to $283, depending on size and how much of the picture is filled. The exact estimate shows on every plan and on the Make page before you buy anything.
How big is the finished mosaic?
Each stud is 8 mm, so a 32 × 32 stud mosaic is 25.6 cm square, a 48 × 48 is 38.4 cm and a 64 × 64 is 51.2 cm. Pixel art keeps one stud per pixel when it fits.
Which NFTs work?
Any Solana NFT: connect Phantom, Solflare or Backpack, or paste a wallet or NFT address. Any other image works through Upload. Pixel art gives the sharpest result because each pixel maps to exactly one stud.
Which LEGO parts does a mosaic use?
Plates in 12 sizes (1×1, 1×2, 1×3, 2×2, 1×4, 2×3, 1×6, 2×4, 1×8, 2×6, 2×8, 4×4) on a LEGO baseplate (part 3811 for 32 × 32, part 4186 for 48 × 48). The studmap Plate Packing uses the largest plate that fits each patch of one colour, which cut the published plans to 78% fewer pieces than all 1×1 plates.
Where do I buy the parts?
Every plan downloads as a BrickLink wanted list and as a LEGO Pick a Brick upload list, so you can order from either. Or buy it as a kit on studmap and the parts ship to you.
Is studmap made by LEGO?
No. studmap is independent. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor or endorse this site.
Can artists add their collections?
Yes. Artists can send their work from the Submit art page to have their pieces turned into LEGO mosaic plans.
